Imagine the Beach

Descriptive (nonfiction) 77 words, Level D (Grade 1), Lexile 230L.

Imagine the Beach

Imagine the sound of the waves crashing on shore, the warm ocean breeze, and the sand beneath your toes. In Imagine the Beach, students are invited to use their imagination and senses to take a trip to the beach in their mind’s eye. Colorful photographs support students’ learning as they practice visualizing and classifying information.

Our grandchildren love the beach. It’s such a BIG place. A place to YELL and yell very LOUDLY! The beach is a place to RUN and run FAST! They collect shells and dig DEEP to build sand castles. They look for crabs and watch the birds and boats afar. The waves are perfect and they get to swim!

The beach is where a kids can be a kids and enjoy nature. Traveling and visiting beaches are great ways to teach children about the world, especially places that are not apart of their regular environment. Learning while young encourages children to appreciate and understand the importance of taking care of our fragile eco-system.

Demolition List

Is your property or a property you are interested in purchasing on the Demolition List published by the City of Tulsa?

The Housing Opportunity Partnership is a new program launched by the City of Tulsa to address over 300 vacant, abandoned and uninhabitable properties that are in such disrepair they constitute a public nuisance and eligible for demolition.

If you are a community development housing organization, non-profit, developer, realtor, property owner interested in transforming uninhabitable structures into safe decent housing or building new housing for Tulsans, please click the link below for a copy of the demolition property case list

Note: The city is not acquiring these properties; rather we’re ensuring structures that lead to neighborhood instability are addressed.

Verify before you buy!
